Bel Borba

Salvador, 1957

Based
Salvador, Bahia
Media
Mosaic, sculpture, painting, mural
Generation
Contemporary

Bel Borba made Salvador his support. Since the 1970s he has scattered mosaics, panels, sculptures and interventions across the city, made from whatever the street offers — broken tile, concrete, scrap, building rubble — a body of public work that has become part of the Bahian landscape.

In the studio the same energy turns into painting, drawing and object. He is among the living Brazilian artists with the largest body of work in open space.
