A draughtsman and printmaker with a world of his own: knights, monsters, bishops, women and beasts in pen and etching, in a chiaroscuro descended from medieval engraving and German mannerism.
He worked in woodcut, metal and lithography and was awarded at biennials in Brazil and abroad. His work is among the most recognisable in twentieth-century Brazilian printmaking.
