Founded in Salvador by Zeca Fernandes, the gallery brings together Brazilian and European modern masters alongside contemporary artists, across painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics and photography.
Manifesto
Zeka Galeria continues a gesture begun by the artist and collector Zeca Fernandes, who founded the gallery out of the conviction that art travels across times, places and languages.
Since then the gallery has devoted itself to works and artists whose research widens the way we look at the world. Painting, sculpture, photography, drawing and other materials share a space that values freedom of expression and the poetic quality of each work.
The gallery keeps alive the spirit of its origin: the meeting of sensibility, thought and aesthetic experience. More than a place for exhibitions, Zeka Galeria seeks to be a space of dialogue between time, artists, works and public.
We believe art is able to touch what often does not fit into words — and that, in doing so, it changes the way we inhabit the world.

History
A house of three generations
The gallery carries a family history. Zeca Fernandes is the son of the painter and printmaker Guel Silveira and the grandson of Jenner Augusto, one of the central figures of modern Bahian painting — both held in the collection. That lineage explains the gallery’s double commitment: to keep the memory of modernism in the Northeast, and to make room for what is being made now.
